UK Pink Floyd Experience - News

12th Dec 2009

The Stumble Inn last night was a terrific night. I knew we'd do well there being local for some of us but I didn’t think the crowd would have been able to sing louder than we could through the fantastic sounding rig of Chris Warsop (Red Wine Music), long time sound engineer for Maet Loaf. We used some 26 channels on his mixing desk so he had his work cut out that night and he certainly proved his ability to make a big band like ours sound great! The audience at The Stumble have always been a good crowd but last night they were at their very best! Not only singing along at full volume, they were in tune too, some of the best audience vocals we've heard! Thanks to Jenny, The Stumble Landlady, for handing over the room to us for the night. We had a great time and who knows; we may pop back and do another gig sometime.

The last performance at The Limellght Club in Crewe saw us really start to click into place as a band. Most of the night was as close to perfect as you get, we only had a couple of tech problems which were quickly ironed out and away we went. We had some raving comments feedback emailed in suggesting we're up there with the top Pink Floyd Tributes already! That's more than we had hoped for at this stage but we think it reflects on the desire of all 9 of us to be one of the leading tributes to Pink Floyd. A huge thank you to everyone who came and especially to the people that took the trouble to write in to us with your support.

What a great first gig we had. We've only just managed to get the audio out to the band and I think overall we're pretty happy with our performance as a new band. As Pink Floyd Tribute Bands go we're definitely giving the rest something to think about. Anybody who doesn't have a full compliment of musicians on stage will be starting to think twice, I know I would be if I had seen us that night. Many people commented on the fact that we had a guitarist that plays and sings like David Gilmour and someone even said we had the potential to be as good as Australian Floyd if we had been going as long as them. Lot's of people were also saying how the 3 backing vocals (one of which plays Saxophones very well as it happens) made the night too. They said things like they were great to watch doing all the dance moves as they do on Pulse DVD. Overall we had a great night, a great turn out and we played a respectable gig. The sound left a lot to be desired but we were at the mercy of the in-house engineer who had never dealt with 24 channels all at the same time in one night.. :-) He did okay though for a first attempt. We will eventually have our own engineer but first we need to learn to walk confidently. We have work to do in our constant striving for perfection and a couple more songs to add and some to take out etc. Hopefully we have some video footage that is reasonable enough for you soon. We had three cameras rolling at the Bigge Venue so fingers crossed the editor can find some decent footage to put on our site. All in all we're moving onwards and upwards and welcome you to join Pink Floyd Experience any time you can.

We now have our first recorded demo online available naturally via our demo page linked from above. Breathe is the first song on the list. We have more demos to come with Money next in line to be uploaded in the next couple of weeks once it mixed. We hope you like our demo and hope it shows you the standards we are working to in our aim to be the UK's leading Pink Floyd Tribute band.

Finally we have our last backing vocalist in place. Lindsay Martin has joined us in the last few weeks and is really working well now with the rest of the band, especially with the difficult task of the backing vocals and trying to recreate the fantastic sound of the real Pink Floyd. We'll have a photo of Lindsay on the band page as soon as possible so you know what she looks like. Look out for that in near future. Lindsay is really looking forward to singing for you so please give her a really warm welcome when you see us.

We have now added our photographs and names to the band page for you to see who we are in the facial sense. We are still looking for a backing vocalist to join Louise and Marie in the band. If you are easy going, reliable and a good communicator and of course, you can sing and harmonize then please get in touch with us via the contact page and we'll arrange for you to join in on the next rehearsal.

12th May 2009

We now have our emailing list ready to receive you. We're going to be running some optional activities where participants can win some VIP passes to one of our shows with back stage access too. Be great for some younger members of the family and possibly the parents too! Whichever way you look at it you'll be among the first people to know anything new about us and what dates we are planning and where if you have subscribed.

5th May 2009
Added some dates to the tour dates page today. We got some more to add once the full 2010 tour has been planned. The dates on the web at the moment are our warm up gigs we are squeezing in to warm us up for this Pink Floyd project. Many of us have other commitments at the moment so the tour has had to wait to really begin until 2010. We're still one backing vocal short which is being worked on at the moment but there is plenty of time for us to get the right person that is interested in what we do. Our intention is to have the same 9 people on stage at every gig to provide every bit of consistency possible for our audience and us as a band too. Keep checking back here for news updates.
